With the continuous advancement of the national "Dual Carbon" goals, supply chain carbon management in the automotive industry is becoming a key area in promoting green and low-carbon development. After the release of the "Low-Carbon Supplier Evaluation Guidelines," it quickly garnered widespread attention and high recognition within the automotive industry. Beijing Foton Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Foton Motor") actively responded to the national low-carbon development strategy and recently released the "Foton Motor Green Supplier Certification Standards and Requirements," formally incorporating "Low-Carbon Supplier Evaluation" into its supplier management system, becoming the first enterprise in the commercial vehicle sector to conduct "Low-Carbon Supplier Evaluation."

As early as March 2024, Foton Motor had become the first commercial vehicle enterprise to complete the deployment and application of a digital carbon management tool system and successfully collected on-site carbon footprint data for over 600 supply chain products through the China Industrial Carbon Emission Information System (CICES). The formal incorporation of "Low-Carbon Supplier Evaluation" into the supplier management system further demonstrates Foton Motor's determination and confidence in supply chain carbon management.

So far, multiple automotive companies, including Foton Motor, Great Wall Motor, and XPeng Motors, have officially integrated "Low-Carbon Supplier Evaluation" into their supply chain management strategies. This marks a new stage in automotive supply chain carbon management and also poses new challenges for the carbon reduction transformation of China's automotive supply chain enterprises. Moving forward, China Automotive Carbon Digital will continue to work with upstream and downstream partners in the industry chain to jointly promote low-carbon development in the automotive industry and help the entire automotive industry chain accelerate towards carbon neutrality.
