A memorandum of understanding was signed by and between China Automotive Carbon Digital Technology Center Co., Ltd. (“China Automotive Carbon Digital”) and British Standards Institution (“BSI”) on March 30, 2023. Both parties have agreed on long-term cooperation in the principles of “complementing advantages, sharing resources, mutual promotion and good faith” by signing this MoU. Such cooperation mainly targets:
1. Research on automotive carbon accounting methodology universally accepted in the world;
2. Advancing mutual trust and recognition of carbon data on automotive products across the world;
3. International promotion of automobile lifecycle database.
Such strategic cooperation will further drive China’ automotive products to “go global”, improve Chinese brands’ international low-carbon competitive edge, and push the global automobile industry to intensify their efforts in decarbonization, in order to empower the industry chain along the path towards carbon neutrality.
